Scooby was found lying on a blanket in a parking lot — painfully thin, injured, and clearly abandoned.
He wasn’t running. He wasn’t reactive. He wasn’t giving up.
He was just… waiting.

A good Samaritan saw him and refused to walk away.
They made the calls.
They advocated.
They took Scooby to Dallas Animal Services, knowing it was his best chance at immediate medical care — even when the outcome was uncertain.

At DAS, Scooby was quickly identified as a medical dog.
Severely malnourished.
A significant wound to his front leg.
A short timeline.

Through all of it, Scooby remained gentle and friendly — the kind of dog who feels like he belonged to someone once.

Then The Love Pit changed his fate.
When DAS began reaching out to rescue partners to see if anyone could step in to help Scooby, we said yes.

Scooby was tagged and transferred directly to our veterinary partner, where he is now receiving care and attention he never should have gone without.

Here’s what we know so far:
• Heart and lungs sound good
• He’s eating well
• He is on antibiotics
• His body shows signs of long-term neglect, not just sudden injury to his leg
• Despite everything, his spirit is still intact

Scooby is safe today because people did the right thing — and because this community makes it possible to step in when it matters most.
