The Community Resilience Fund
Building safer digital spaces, stronger communities, and a shared sense of humanity.
The Community Resilience Fund powers the year-round work of The ‘MPOWER Project, a New York–based 501(c)(3) research and innovation lab dedicated to strengthening civic resilience and creating safer online and offline communities.
Founded to understand and counter the dynamics that make people vulnerable to harmful ideologies, The ‘MPOWER Project created the Identity Vulnerability Framework—a behavioral science–driven model that illuminates why certain narratives take hold, how beliefs spread, and what helps individuals and communities stay grounded, connected, and resilient. Today, our work applies this foundation to a wider mission: helping people navigate digital life with greater agency, belonging, and critical awareness.
Support for the Community Resilience Fund fuels our full portfolio of research and programming, including:
• Narrative & Community Building Initiatives
We elevate personal stories that strengthen belonging and highlight shared humanity—most notably through NOW I AM_, a multimedia storytelling platform and community-building project that gathers crowd-sourced reflections from across the country.
• Local Resilience & Social Connection Tools
We design experiences that help people connect offline in meaningful, creative ways. The BRIDGES Toolkit supports pop-up gatherings, workshops, and community experiences that build trust, relationships, and local resilience.
• Media literacy and online behavioral Insights & Audience Research
We investigate how identity, emotion, and media environments shape beliefs. Our insights inform educators, nonprofits, public-interest campaigns, and mission-driven organizations seeking to promote digital literacy, critical thinking, and safer online participation.
When you contribute to The Community Resilience Fund, you’re investing in research, tools, and stories that foster connection over division, understanding over fear, and resilience over vulnerability. Together, we can shape a future where communities—online and offline—are informed, connected, and empowered.
