I have worked for Aitkin County DAC for over 5 years, and it has been the most rewarding job of my life! I care so deeply for the incredible folks we serve, and the idea of a new building for them to thrive in is more exciting than I can even express.
I grew up in Aitkin and have always loved spending time with those with disabilities. I knew at an early age that these incredible humans have so much beauty, knowledge, and love to offer the world.
Ever since I was a small child, I've always tried to do what I could to show my support and love for this demographic - and here I am, 39 years in, asking for others to rally around us and give our amazing people a new space that will change their lives drastically for the better! There's power in numbers, friends!
This new building would mean so many things to so many people, and I am so proud to be a part of it. I cannot wait until we can open our doors and provide an opportunity of a lifetime for some of the most deserving people on the planet!
In life, those with disabilities face far more struggles than those that don't. Having worked with our folks here, I've witnessed the many things that make life harder for them. They deserve the world, and creating a building tailored to their likes and needs would truly be life-altering for them. They deserve a beautiful, peaceful, multi-use space that they look forward to working in and exploring their dreams within.
I'd love your support. Help me help them!! You really can make dreams come true.
All my love,
Andrea
