Blight and lack of access does not belong in any neighborhood!

Coming soon to the Park Hill neighborhood in Louisville, KY is the Green Spot! The Green Spot is a community green space and garden that welcomes all residents and organizations. We are thankful to have this amazing responsibility supported by residents and the Louisville Landbank. By establishing this space, the Green Spot transform a vacant space by removing the lack of production and stagnation to promoting a highly engaging and beautified communal environment.

One of our biggest goals is to have residents and local organizations make the best out of the space by leading programming that is essential to the community. Other than exploring, this space will be used for adults and children to gain a new skills and perspective, or use the space for relaxed gathering enhance inter-personal relationships. Positive and productive engagement is important to highlight the work the community puts in and reduce blight.

As we are located in Park HIll, it is an honor to be part of the community that displays and models the strengths of togetherness, along with unconditional support for each other. Even as the neighborhood struggles with a lack of access to adequate resources and nutrition, the residents remain resilient as they continue to advocate for themselves. The Green Spot aims to assist with the upward progress of the neighborhood through communal support.

Thank you for starting this journey with us. We want to make a lasting impact in Park Hill by creating more out of the blank canvas (vacant lot). Our fundraising campaign will fund multiple projects such as the construction of the space to skill-based hosting programs.
