Community Driven Card Game - The People's Champion
Introduction
Our political and social systems are COM-PLI-CATED and yet it is connected to so much of what is possible in the world around us. Community Driven was created to help bring together and lift up ways we can have a positive impact. We can work more together - we can lift up subjects, skills, and values that are important - we can build things that people across the country want to see more of and support!
Eventually I was inspired to create an educational card game called The People's Champion as a way to make learning about policy and positive impact easier and more fun! The game works by bringing together different Resource, Leader, and Action cards to win Scenario cards! You can play by yourself in a puzzle mode, alongside others, or competitively as you race to win more Scenario cards!
We are ready to begin the final steps to bring the game to life and are reaching out to family, friends, and allies to support the game and help us raise $4000!
Opportunity Breakdown
We have built multiple prototypes, put together play test games, and are now ready to finalize the design and production of the game!
The majority of our budget is for supporting designers, artists, and educators to get the game and learning materials production ready! Being able to invest in partnerships will bring more artistic style, development, and attention to the game. Investing in community leaders and artists also has powerful local benefits that want to support and grow!
With card printing you get steep price discounts with print size. Our production goal is to order at least 100 card game sets, for each set to come in a unique upcycled bag or box, and that we can produce that for around $1200! Our goal is to raise $4000 by the end of 2025 and have game production begin in March!
With the successful launch of the game we will be able to grow our investment into the artist community and bring a fun and educational product to class rooms and living rooms alike! Sharing , supporting, and all offerings appreciated and celebrated!
About The Founder
My name is Braeden and I am a designer, artist, and community organizer from Colorado. I studied both environmental studies and business in college to better understand how the systems of nature and people overlap and affect each other. After college, I founded a STEAM education startup over two years before deciding to pursue a wider career in social and political change. That was many years ago and since then I have learned many things, seen the growth of local leaders/groups, and even ran for office myself.
