Angerer Eats, a local provider of healthy, home-cooked meals, has partnered with Gilda's Club Quad Cities to extend a helping hand to cancer patients and their loved ones by partnering with Gilda’s Club to provide free meals. This collaboration addresses a critical issue highlighted by Gilda’s Club Quad Cities: the prevalent food insecurity faced by individuals and families affected by cancer diagnoses. Many of those being impacted by a cancer diagnosis lack access to nutritious meals.

Since beginning to offer this resource the collaboration has been more successful than imagined. In just a two month span over 300 meals have been handed out. That is why we need your help to sustain this initiative-- every dollar donated will help to provide a nutrious meal and support those in our community being affected by cancer.

"To be able to stop by our Clubhouse and pick out a family style meal on a day you are feeling crummy from treatment, caregiving, etc., has been a relief to so many. We are thrilled to be able to offer this new resource moving into 2024. "

Mary Angerer, the visionary behind Angerer Eats, shared her motivation for initiating this collaboration, stating, "I knew the minute I walked into Gilda's Club and toured their facilities I needed to join forces and help so many families that go through there. We started by helping with one month of weekly meals that they offer to their patients and families, realizing quickly that more could be offered."

She continued, "I thought what if I made it accessible for patients any time of day! That's when we thought of a freezer, where all my extra meals could be brought over weekly and could be a grab-and-go service. Families can grab and take home after a long day of treatment, or there is a full-service kitchen where meals could be heated on the spot."

Free of charge, Gilda’s Club Quad Cities provides support, education and hope to all people affected by cancer.
