TTTNR pilot project

TTTNR Pilot Project

The Pilot Project targets a specific neighborhood in San Miguel de Allende, Las Alamedas, where the street dog population is densely concentrated and requires the most attention.

The objective of this particular initiative is to decrease the number of street dogs, aiming to significantly alleviate the distress and hardship experienced by these animals. Funds are used for transportation, veterinary expenses, dog catcher, post surgical care, dog food, etc.

Target: The primary focus is on homeless street dogs, with the objective of neutering-spaying two-thirds of this population. Our target is a specific neighborhood in San Miguel De Allende, Las Alamedas, aiming for maximum benefit and outcome analysis. Dogs will be captured using humane methods to minimize their stress.

Treatment: Treatment involves a thorough medical examination for serious diseases, along with a rabies vaccination for every dog. Puppies will receive additional necessary vaccinations. Each dog is also provided with heartworm medication.

Tag: Each dog will be tagged on the ear for documentation and record-keeping. Each tag features a unique number, correlating to a detailed profile for that dog. This ensures a well-organized pilot project, where each dog represents a successfully neutered or spayed and vaccinated animal.

NeuterSpay: The neuter-spay initiative ensures that every dog is sterilized, significantly reducing the street dog population. By spaying or neutering two-thirds of the population, we aim to achieve effective population control, greatly alleviating the hardships of street life for these animals. Following surgery, each dog is cared for over a period of 3 to 5 days to facilitate proper wound healing.

Release: Once recovered, all dogs, except puppies, will be returned to their original neighborhoods. Puppies will be integrated into a dedicated puppy rescue program, and we are actively seeking volunteers. Community education and support are crucial, underscored by the establishment of feeding stations throughout the neighborhoods. These are stocked with donated dog food provided by the foundation, which relies on volunteer efforts and donations. At this final stage, community support is essential, creating avenues for anyone willing to make a difference through donations or volunteering.

The results of the TTTNR Pilot Project have the potential to become a leading force in the realm of animal population control. We anticipate measuring lasting outcomes and ensuring the project's sustainability.

We invite you to join our Pilot Project: participate alongside us in our effort to resolve street dog overpopulation while honoring and integrating local community culture. Our approach involves respectful community education, leading to enduring positive impact and results.

Dogs Without Borders Foundation
Two countries. One mission: give every dog a chance.

We are a small nonprofit working in both Central Mexico and Central Texas, united by one deep commitment — to protect and uplift the lives of dogs in need.

  • In San Miguel de Allende, we begin our work where it matters most: the streets.
We sponsor free spay and neuter campaigns to reduce suffering and overpopulation. We also rescue vulnerable puppies, giving them a second chance through loving foster care, full medical treatment, and the support they need to heal and thrive.

  • In Austin, Texas, our focus shifts to advocacy and empowerment.
We raise funds to provide training scholarships for shelter dogs, helping them become adoptable companions. We also organize the transport of rescued dogs from Mexico to find forever homes in the U.S.

And because we believe in compassion on every level, we offer volunteer days for University of Texas students — a chance to give back, connect, and enjoy a “street-free” mental health break with purpose.

Your donation helps us cross borders with kindness — from the streets of Mexico to the shelters of Texas.

Together, we can rewrite the stories of dogs who deserve more.
