Lavender Graduation Legacy Project

The Lavender Graduation Legacy Project, created by Lavender Graduation founder Dr. Ronni Sanlo, supports and empowers schools, colleges, and community organizations to host meaningful, inclusive Lavender Graduation ceremonies in this challenging time. We help organize Lavender Graduation ceremonies honoring LGBTQ+ graduates; provide educational services, namely, toolkits, workshops, consulting and speakers to institutions and organizations to help create inclusive graduation events; provide downloadable and printed materials in connection with LGBTQ+ recognition and community celebration; and promote public awareness of LGBTQ+ achievements in academic and community settings. Finally, we hope to encourage community organizations to host Lavender Graduations for high schools and for LGBTQ elders who graduated from college before Lavender Graduation was founded 30 years ago. It is also why we are developing the National Lavender Graduation Archives in an effort to preserve our history, our story.

Every student deserves to be seen. Every graduate deserves to be celebrated. The Lavender Graduation Legacy Project believes recognition matters especially for LGBTQ+ students whose identities and journeys are too often overlooked in this political climate. Help us help our LGBTQ story.

Our services are free so your support is critical.

With your support, we provide:

  • Training and toolkits for educators and community leaders
  • Customizable resources to plan and promote ceremonies
  • Consulting and coaching to build sustainable, student-centered programs
  • Inspiration and mentorship for institutions just beginning their journey

We’re not just helping schools and organizations host events. With your help, we’re building a national legacy of LGBTQ+ affirmation and celebration.
