Help us get a car so we can move out sooner!
SECOND UPDATE:
I've updated the goal to match my savings and help me get a car instead of focusing on debt since I do have a job now. The debt is being handled, but if we can reach this goal, then we can start looking for a car sooner and Mar and I won't have to rely on our parents' cars for mobility.
UPDATE:
I got a better, full time job and Mar secured a part time job so things are really looking up. I agreed to live at home for at least a year and save as much as possible so when we do move out we won't be living check to check.
I've also decided that I'm going to try and get a car before we look for apartments so Mar and I won't be relying on Uber and the bus. So, all donations as of right now will be going towards my car's down payment, and potentially paying for in-person driving lessons since I never got those.
With that though, my Dad struggles to pay bills and I recently had to cover our gas bill to get hot water and I may have to cover his and my little brother's phone bill so my brother can have a working phone as he gets to and from work. This is just one of the many things about living at home that I wanted to avoid but it's inevitable.
As far as medical supplies goes, I had to get off my Omnipod entirely and the Dexcom because they were too expensive. If I can raise enough for a year-supply of both of those, then I could potentially get back on.
Things are looking up for sure! And the sooner we raise enough money to pay off my debt, secure more medical supplies, get a car, and get Mar in therapy and on ADHD meds, the sooner I can focus on saving money to move away from here. Thank you to everyone who has helped us so far. It means the world <3
Hi everyone! My name is Madi, I'm 23, and currently working and living at home with my parents and two brothers. My younger brother, Mar, and I are hoping to move out soon and get away from our parents. It's getting more and more difficult to live at home and it's time for us to get out of here as it's taking a significant toll on our emotional health.
All donations will go towards a year's rent, paying off medical bills for my diabetic supplies, securing funds for up to a year of more supplies, and paying off my credit card. As I said, I am working, so I will be making money and saving as we try and fundraise, and Mar is applying for work and considering going to school.
If you could help, it would mean the world to us and give us a little more peace of mind as we prepare for this huge change in our lives. It will be my first time paying rent outside of college and Mar's first time living away from home ever, so we need as much support as we can get. Any leftover funds will go towards Mar getting on ADHD meds and into therapy, as well as internet, groceries, and any other surprise expenses we come across.
