The Future is Inclusive: Local Strategy + Policy Change + Creative Community Involvement

In 2019, 2023, and 2024 we were integral to getting abortion and gender affirming care protected in RI with the Reproductive Privacy Act, Equality in Abortion Coverage Act, and the Health Care Provider Shield Act through creative activism, grassroots organizing, and organizational campaign leadership.

Now it is time to use our strengths and methods we learned in past successes to secure voting access and rights here in Rhode Island, a basic civil right.

Just like when we were fighting for the Reproductive Privacy Act, we are already hearing government officials in Rhode Island say that right will never be taken away at the federal level, so why defend it? If that was the case why do 9 states already have it protected with many more following in building in that protection like Rhode Island?

We made the right to abortion into state law before the Supreme Court overturned Roe and fought to include the poorest of us along the way overturning the Hyde Amendment locally. That's no small undertaking, but we did it.

Now we need your help to codify into state law the basic civil right of the Voting Rights Act. That way we can continue to defend and advance bodily freedom without suppression and discrimination, for all of us.
