Thanks to your genorisity we managed to hit our goal within hours. Lazyboredom is incredibly appreciative of the overwhelming support from everyone in the community. We're going to leave the fundraiser up for a week to give people a chance at the sweepstake prizes. Any funds raised above our goal will go to Lazyboredom so he can attend another offline event this year.

FightRise.com and the FightRise Discord community grew from a principal that fighting games are best enjoyed with a community behind you. The goal is self improvement and motivation, both through the game and life, to ultimately achieve a level of skill that you could not have imagined on your own.

The FightRise community banded together last year to send Jared Hubbard, a.k.a. Lazyboredom, to C.E.O. where he placed 25th place in an incredibly stacked bracket and only one win away from top 16.

Jared embodies so much of what we strive to achieve at FightRise. He works hard in this game with a positive self effacing attitude yet showcases a level of skill that can only be matched by some of the best players in the world. He also makes himself accessible to the community and events as much as he can despite a busy schedule. Jared's dream is to walk out into the ring at C.E.O. top 8 this summer and we hope the FightRise family can band together to make it happen!

"Each and every one of you in the FightRise community hold a special place in my heart for giving me the opportunity to compete on the big stage of C.E.O. last year. This year, with your help, I hope to realize my long-time dream of achieving Top 8 at C.E.O. and making that walk-out to the wrestling ring!

Hi everyone, my name is Jared or, as you may better know me, Lazyboredom! I'm super passionate about and grateful for the FightRise community. And, you cheering me on means more than you know. Let me tell you a little bit about my FGC history.

I'm a native of North Carolina and have competed in a number of fighting games over the years but had the most success with Smash 4 and Smash Ultimate, being top 10 Power Ranked(PR) in the state for both.

For Smash, I traveled to many state tournaments as a top 10 PR player consistently achieving top 8 results. Despite not having many opportunities to travel out of state I managed to hold my own against some of the best Smash players in the world.

In Street Fighter 6 I've reached Legend rank in multiple phases. Since placing 25th last year at C.E.O. thanks to this community's help, I really focused on improving against the top players. I placed 1st at two offline regionals, Beast in the East and Rock the Winds. I've also achieved top 8s in all the major online tournaments, which was a big goal of mine: 1 for Can Opener, 3 at Dual Academy, and 9 top 8 showings at TNS! I'm considered the #1 player in North Carolina and ranked in the top 250 Street Fighter 6 players in the WORLD according to WWFGC rankings.

Obviously cost and travel required to attend these events always represents an obstacle, so having this opportunity means so much to me. I hope to represent the FightRise community the only way I can, by working and training hard to do my best to make you all proud!"

We worked with Lazyboredom to do our best to budget this 5 day trip to Orlando as reasonably and affordably as possible. This is how we see it breaking down.

$125 - C.E.O. Registration and Street Fighter 6 Tournament Entry Fees.
$400 - Hotel costs for duration of the event.

At the end of the day, this is a donation. There's no guarantee that Lazyboredom will make it to Top 8, but without this help he wouldn't even be able to TRY.
