About The Youth & Amateur Sports Assocation (TYASA)

The Youth and Amateur Sports Association (TYASA) was formed to better understand the operational realities facing volunteer-led youth sports organizations.

Across communities, youth sports are sustained by volunteers who manage scheduling, safety oversight, communication, fundraising, and organizational coordination, often with limited infrastructure and increasing expectations.

TYASA’s current focus is a structured listening initiative designed to gather insight from organizational leaders, coaches, and parents. The goal is to better understand sustainability challenges, communication clarity, safety experiences, and administrative workload across local environments.

Participation in any TYASA initiative is voluntary and opt-in. Responses are reviewed in aggregate, and no structural programs or mandates are being implemented during this phase.

TYASA does not operate leagues, does not impose standards, and does not exercise regulatory authority.

This phase is centered on understanding first, before exploring what responsible support may look like in the future.
