Common Healing and Upstate Color are partnering to raise $11,000 in 2 weeks to fully sponsor 2 members of the African Diaspora living in the Hudson Valley of New York to travel to South Africa in March 7 - 14th, 2024 for the Strange Fruit World-Building Immersion curated by Common Healing.

Travelers will have the opportunity to be in community with local South Africans while being held in ritual and ceremony by Sangomas, or traditional Southern African healers. Our intention for this gathering is to explore dissolving the illusion of separation created by the Middle Passage. As a group, we'll visit Johannesburg, Mpumalanga and the Cradle of Humankind.

The cost of this experience is prohibitive for some and we want to do our part to create more access and possibility. We see this trip as a worldmaking experience where we can practice the futures of our dreams now. In the well future, we see resources moving internationally for the preservation of folk healing and cultural traditions.
