Team Avalon 2025
Greetings from Team Avalon 2025!
We hope you and your family have enjoyed the offseason in Avalon, and like us, looking forward to warmer days and a summer on the beach.
Team Avalon 2025 is seeking your support in May 13th, non-partisan municipal election in Avalon. Team Avalon 2025 is comprised of Council President Mari Coskey, Councilman Jamie McDermott, and Councilman Greg “Chet” Johnson. Avalon has become a local and national leader on initiatives and issues through the “team” approach to good government that advances your interests. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and ask for your support on election day.
Experienced, stable government in Avalon has allowed our community to achieve remarkable milestones. Avalon has the lowest municipal tax rate of any developed community in New Jersey, maintains an exemplary AAA bond rating from Standard and Poor’s, and continues to have no long-term, general obligation debt. Avalon’s financial practices and policies result in a debt-free municipality that can leverage attention and improvements to critical infrastructure including streets, bulkheads, beaches, dunes, and public gathering spaces.
Council President Coskey serves our children in the Avalon Stone Harbor School District as Coordinator for Special Education Services. She volunteers on Avalon’s Recreation Advisory Committee and is active in the Avalon Chamber of Commerce. Councilman McDermott is a past chairman of the Avalon Planning and Zoning Board and past president of Borough Council, remaining active in the Avalon Lions Club and Avalon Yacht Club. Councilman Johnson is also a past president of the Avalon Planning and Zoning Board and joins Council President Coskey on our Recreation Advisory Committee.
Avalon Mayor John McCorristin has pledged his full endorsement and support of Team Avalon 2025 and asks for your consideration on election day. Avalon’s unified approach to addressing challenging and complicated issues demonstrates remarkable results and achievements. You may vote in person at Avalon Community Hall on Tuesday, May 13th between 6:00am-8:00pm. Please reach out to Mari, Jamie, or Chet with any questions you may have.
