Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation
You can help bring the joy of recreation to youth with disabilities by contributing to The AIROW Project’s 2025 Big Campaign!
The AIROW Project (Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation of Whatcom County) creates, facilitates and promotes adaptive and inclusive recreation opportunities for people with disabilities in Whatcom County and the surrounding areas.
We believe that recreation is for all! Many individuals, especially youth and adults with disabilities, face significant barriers to accessing both the outdoors and recreational activities. The AIROW Project works to reduce these barriers as well as to provide inclusive and adaptive opportunities for everyone to participate.
The AIROW Project offers a variety of programs year-round, including hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, kayaking, skiing, paddleboarding, pickleball, bowling, scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, and more. Our programs not only provide adaptive and inclusive recreational opportunities, but they also foster improved confidence and independence that carry over into all aspects of our participants’ lives.
One of The AIROW Project’s most popular programs is our Adaptive and Inclusive Summer Camp. Each 4-day camp session provides an encouraging and judgment-free environment for participants to experience a host of typical camp activities such as swimming, paddling and hiking. Summer 2025 will be our biggest summer camp program yet, and with summer quickly approaching, we need your support! Please give generously.
Your gift of any size will make a difference in the life of a youth or young adult through recreation!
