THE DOCumentary -- Celebrating the Art and Activism of Dr. Carol “Doc” Adams

Founded by Dr. Carol Adams in 2018, the South Shore Works Planning and Preservation Coalition is a 501©3 organization dedicated to the restoration and revitalization of the South Shore community.

South Shore Works envisions a culture centered, vibrant, mixed-income community with a bustling commercial corridor, stable housing stock, good schools, and stimulating cultural arts and recreational outlets and opportunities.

South Shore Works' mission is to create a collaboratory that harnesses the collective power of South Shore organizations, agencies, institutions, residents and stakeholders to design and create a thriving, sustainable, and collectively well community.

This event not only helps our organization further its mission - it is an opportunity to honor and recognize a community icon whose activism in South Shore spans over 50 years, on the occasion of her 80th birthday.

The prolific Dr. Adams’ expansive career encompasses her work as an educator, civic and cultural arts administrator, civil rights organizer, museologist and community activist. Although her work spans the globe, her devotion to her South Shore neighborhood has been consistent and impactful.

We invite you to join in on the celebration. Please consider making a donation and "Rock with Doc!"
