11th Hour takes Dublin

Ah s***, here we go again.

We really can’t stand staying in one state. Like, “last-year-we-went-on-a-three-different-state-tour” can’t-stand-it. And the wild part? People came. Not just our moms. Not just our roommates. Real people that spent their real people dollar bills on a ticket. Someone from BroadwayWorld saw the show which, what?

But we have once again girl-bossed a little too close to the sun.

We’ve been invited to take our newest show, The Enhanced Venus Experiment, ACROSS THE POND. Ireland. Ciara’s literal homeland. The place that invented yearning.

They like us!! They really like us!! They saw two gay people with a vision and said, "girl, get in here!"

And we want to say yes.

What is E.V.E.?

“To scholars, death is a complex phenomenon but inside E.D.E.N., it is simple arithmetic. What remains to be uncovered is what makes us human: fear, memory, attachment, love. Pierce helps map those limits. Collins survives the cost of finding them. But when consciousness is examined in isolation, something shifts. They thought they were helping build the future of the human experience. They’re not only becoming the prototype, but grasping Adam’s rib and taking part in creation… and the only way out of the Garden is to sin.”

She’s weird. She’s gay. She’s a sci-fi fanfic with teeth. She's a little different from what you see typically here at 11th Hour: experimental, a little existential crisis-ish. But don't worry, it's still straight out of an A03 you'd be caught reading at 2am, with a little A24 twist of lime.

It’s a show about what makes us human to our core, told by queer artists who are actively trying to stay human in a state that does not fund or prioritize the arts.

So like, can we level with you?

We live in Florida.

There is no magical arts grant fairy waiting in the wings. There is no secret pile of government money labeled “Send The Gay Theatre Kids to Ireland.”

There are plane tickets. There is housing. There are production costs. There is the terrifying reality that maybe we can't gaslight gatekeep girlboss our way out of this one.

Saylor works at Disney. Ciara teaches middle school.

As much as we wish we had a sugar daddy to fund our company, we are two working artists who made something strange and beautiful enough that another country said, “Come here, we want you.” (they want us so bad, bro)

So yeah. We need help. We know what we're doing (mostly), but damn it's expensive to put out the product we're proud of.

Who cares?

This isn't just a cute little gay vacay.

It's actually:

  • Queer work from Florida (!!!!) being seen internationally.

  • Independent theatre proving it doesn’t have to stay small.

  • Our collaborators getting paid.

  • A queer story about love, autonomy, and creation reaching audiences outside our bubble.

It’s scary to ask for money. Especially right now. Especially from people we care about.

But if our work has ever meant something to you, if you’ve ever felt seen in the dark of one of our houses, if you’ve ever sent us a feral voice memo at 1am about a line that wrecked you or if you have ever looked at Saylor and said, "will she ever shut up about her damn theatre company?" This is a way to be part of it.

You’re not just funding plane tickets.

You’re helping queer artists leave their own Garden.

What’s in it for you?

Eternal glory. Peaceful sleep. The smug joy of knowing you helped export gay theatre to Europe. Maybe a ride from the airport. We’re not above bribery, and we've always said that.

But sincerely? You become part of this chapter. When we step on that stage in Ireland, we’ll know exactly who got us there.

If you can donate, thank you. If you can share, thank you. If you can scream about it online or in a coffee shop or in a meeting or at Southern,  we deeply thank you.

We are shocked. We are honored. We are mildly panicking.

And we are so ready to go.

We're so proud to be from Orlando, and we promise we will represent the City Beautiful in the way only 11th Hour can: sapphically, proud as hell, and maybe being a little annoying about it.
