On Saturday evening February 6, 2021, our beloved Josh was the victim of a tragic hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles. He sustained a traumatic and fatal head injury.
On Thursday, February 11, surrounded by the extraordinary love from his parents Lori and Stephen, his sister Jessica, his aunts and uncles, and prayers from a loving global loving community of family and friends, he passed on to eternal life. Josh’s beautiful soul will live on forever.
The Markowitz family, Stephen, Lori and Jessica have created a fund to honor Josh’s memory. The fund celebrates Josh’s love and creation of music and will help aspiring musicians.
Our mission is to facilitate and support access and opportunity to the world of music for aspiring musicians and in so doing honor the memory of Josh Markowitz; musician, composer, producer and entrepreneur.
By appreciating music that came from all over the world, he understood that his own music could be sent out and shared all over the world. He believed aspiring, talented artists shouldn’t find their reach limited by their circumstances. That belief, and now that legacy, will live on forever in support of musical inspiration and the unhindered chance to apply and share it.
Josh believed that music is transformative, empowering the lives of youth, turning dreams into reality. To honor this belief, his family and friends are establishing a Fund to support and nourish aspiring young musicians.
