We are excited to provide you with all the essential details for the upcoming Stop Hurting Me Domestic Violence Rally and Walk, which will take place on October 5, 2024. This event is a powerful opportunity for us to come together as a community and take a stand against domestic violence. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know to participate. Event Details Date: Saturday, October 5, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Location: Buckroe Beach, Hampton, VA Parking Information Parking: Free parking will be available at designated areas around Buckroe Beach. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot, as we anticipate a large turnout for this impactful event. Agenda 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Registration and T-Shirt Pickup 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Welcome and Opening Remarks 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM: Survivor Stories and Guest Speakers 10:15 AM – 11:00 AM: Walk Begins (1.5 miles along the beach path) 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Resource Fair and Community Booths 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Group Photo and Closing Remarks 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Networking and Event Wrap-Up Attire Wear Purple: In support of domestic violence awareness, we encourage all attendees to wear a purple shirt. If you prefer, you can also purchase an official Stop Hurting Me conference t-shirt, which will be on sale starting September 1, 2024. Wearing this t-shirt will further unify us as a community and amplify our message of solidarity. T-Shirt Purchase and Pickup Purchase t-shirts on www.planuinc.com Pre-order by September 26: T-shirts purchased online by September 26, 2024, can be shipped directly to your desired location or picked up at the registration booth on the day of the event. On-Site Vendor: A T-shirt vendor will be available at the event. However, please note that shirts purchased on the day of the event will be sold at the regular price and will not be available at the pre-order discount rate. Policies and Guidelines Registration: Pre-registration is highly recommended to help us manage the event smoothly. Walk-ins are welcome but may experience delays at check-in. COVID-19 Safety: We encourage all attendees to follow the latest public health guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety. Hand sanitizing stations will be available, and masks are optional but recommended in crowded areas. Weather: This is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
