The Writing Room is excited to announce our 2024 Collective Devotional Project, The Song of the Mended: On the Path to Healing, Wholeness, & Holiness.

WHY WE DO IT

Let’s be honest. Many feel called to write. Some begin writing but struggle to figure out how to get their works into print.

The mission of The Writing Room is threefold:

To create a safe community for Christian writers that is highly supportive of the journey to healing
To help emerging and established Christian writers rise and shine
To empower them to share their creativity and testimonies with the world

Since our foundation in 2020, The Writing Room has enabled dozens of writers to overcome the hurdles to first-time publication. We love the feeling of family within these projects!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Still, there are many costs associated with publishing a book, both financial and the cost of time investment. Between editing, book design, and marketing, the financial costs add up quickly. In the past, these projects have been self-funded by our founder and a handful of gracious supporters who sowed or contributed their time along the way—or both.

We take the mission of creating these books seriously, so it was time to come up with a more sustainable plan. This sample budget from the Editorial Freelancers Association is a great reference:

OUR PROJECT BUDGET

Thankfully, we can do many of these in-house. That means we can keep our fundraising goal for this project low. Our total projected budget for the project is $2,925. That budget does not cover the monthly/annual costs of running The Writing Room (apps like Zoom, website, speaker fees, etc.), so everything raised beyond our $2,925 project goal will be applied to those costs.

SHOP AMBASSADORS

Love the products and the idea of making a little extra cash? You can sign on to be a Song of the Mended Shop Ambassador! All you have to do is sign up and share the shop or special product links on social media, with family, friends, anywhere you like. You'll receive a 15% commission on every affiliated purchase, excluding tax. And yes, you are welcome to keep the commission yourself as personal earnings or donate them in full to the project fundraiser. Whichever you prefer! All Shop Ambassadors will receive weekly updates with newly added products and graphics for sharing on social media.

DONOR GIFTS

We cannot do this without your support. As a token of our appreciation, we have put together a collection of gifts for all donors. If you like, you are free to skip the gift. We understand that some of you prefer that all the funds you donate go directly toward the project budget. Whichever you prefer! No question, the extra funds are helpful. But we’re pretty proud of our merch too, and would be happy to share it with you as a gesture of our appreciation.
