The Trans Formations Project (TFP) is a 501(c)4, trans-led and volunteer-driven grassroots organization that tracks anti-trans legislation, both passed and pending, in all 50 states and nationally. TFP was one of the first organizations to track anti-trans legislation in the United States and we do it more comprehensively than anyone else. Being a 501(c)4, we are a social action organization, unrestricted by regulations to remain bipartisan. We can offer legislative scorecards and other actionable information that centers trans rights as human rights–regardless of political party.

We depend on individual donations, and a recurring gift will help us continue to do this work sustainably into the future. Funds support our volunteers to track every piece of anti-trans legislation by hand for incredible accuracy. We remain the only organization in the country to accurately report on each piece of trans legislation by hand, in plain language, accessible for the public to use. We believe our community deserves to know what we're up against, and to that end, we promise to provide our resources, research and analysis for free to the public. Our website features a database that provides updated contact information, bill summaries, and legislation that has been proposed, passed, and their legislative sponsors. From newsletters, to daily social media posts and threads, we aim to provide up to date resources and information to fight anti-trans rhetoric, hate, and legislation. We are a trans-led and trans-run organization that is 100% funded by the donations of people like you. We rely on these donations to continue our operational costs and expenses, and aim to utilize these funds to hire our leadership into paid staff to increase our organizational capacity, foster sustainable resistance, and expand our work.

In 2023, over 500 anti-trans bills have been proposed, which is double the amount introduced for all of 2022. There is an active campaign of genocide and harm to all trans individuals. The danger of these bills expands past those in the trans community, and filters into all aspects of life in the US. From access to basic necessary medical procedures, to active kidnapping of trans children, the attack on trans individuals has grown exponentially, and there is little sign of the attacks reducing in the near future. These blatant coordinated attacks are growing each day, and individuals across the country are experiencing crisis each day as their humanity, rights, homes, families, and even their very lives are stripped away from them.

However, while the anti-trans movement is strong, our community remains stronger. We believe that trans rights are human rights, and that an attack on trans rights is an attack on humanity. We refuse to allow the coordinated attacks on trans humanity to go private and unseen and unnoticed. The Trans Formations Project was born out of the necessity to track these bills and shorten the path to organized action to push back against these bills, and we need your help to fund our operations.
