Alex M. Thoresen - Class of 2012

In 2018, The Alex Thoresen Legacy Foundation along with family and friends established the Alex Thoresen Memorial Mission Trip Scholarship at Brother Rice after losing Alex to a courageous battle with cancer. As a senior, Alex traveled to Peru with fellow Warriors, and his life was changed. Alex developed a deep commitment to serving others—especially those most in need. Before his passing, he left us all with a powerful challenge: “Perform an act of kindness for a stranger… Spread a little love on my behalf. Do some good.”

To date, this scholarship which bears his name, has been sponsoring Brother Rice students annually, making it possible for them to “do some good” and experience this transformative mission in Lima, Peru—an opportunity they may not have otherwise had.

We invite you to help carry forward Alex’s legacy at Brother Rice. Your support will continue to open doors for deserving Warrior students to serve, grow, and “do some good” in the world.
