Disability has destined too many in Uganda to a hard life of constant struggle. We work with teen girls at Overcomers School that have all kinds of disabilities like spina bifida, hydrocephalus and autism.
Our Solution: Create a Chicken Farm!
For these girls, learning chicken farming is going to create a path to financial independence after graduation.
The school farm will be run as an agriculture class meeting both morning and evening, upskilling that leads to discipline and dedication. In addition to the 20+ girls in each class, the entire school will benefit from additional income, improved nutrition and a spirit of hope!
Last school year, the school had to close down 2 weeks early because they didn't have enough money to feed the students.
Our farms are environmentally friendly, using only rainwater and solar power to operate. All of our farms will always be cage-free.
With your help, having a disability is no longer a life sentence to poverty here in Uganda.
