For us here at The Tipi Raisers, this calls to mind the Indigenous wisdom of reciprocity - the belief that a community stays in balance when all of its members give and receive in the ways they are able.

On paper, we're a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization. But at The Tipi Raisers, we believe in going beyond "charity" in the Native communities we serve. We bring Native and non-Native elders, youth, supporters and volunteers together to alleviate poverty in Native communities, honor Indigenous wisdom, and move reconciliation forward. We believe that all members of our extended community have something beautiful and valuable to offer one another, and we are honored to see the loving exchange of service, cultural education, and friendship that takes shape throughout the course of our work.

When you give today, you enter this circle of giving, where tribal members and non-Native friends work together to provide food and provisions of warmth for reservation communities, where Indigenous elders share traditional teachings with non-Native volunteers, where youth of diverse backgrounds connect through service and reconciliation dialogues, and where supporters and volunteers learn about the vibrant cultures of Indigenous tribes directly from the source.
