The Montford Point Marines were the first Black Americans to serve in the United States Marine Corps, breaking barriers of segregation and paving the way for generations of service members. Their courage, resilience, and dedication during a time of adversity shaped the foundation of today’s military.

Despite their monumental contributions, nearly 16,000 Montford Pointers remain unidentified, and their families have yet to receive the recognition they so rightfully deserve. The National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc is dedicated to preserving their legacy by finding these trailblazers and ensuring they all receive the gratitude of a grateful nation by purchasing and presenting them or their families on their behalf with the Congressional Gold Medal that was awarded to these heroes in 2012.
