My love of music has been passed down from both sides of my family! My maternal grandfather, founder of the Cary High School Marching Band, was so committed to ensuring all kids, regardless of socio-economic status, had access to instruments, he opened his own music store in the 1979 and leased instruments to anyone interested in learning to play. My paternal grandfather was also a musician and composer and served as the music director of Brevard College and later as conductor of the Greensboro Symphony.

Now as a founding Advisory Board member of Instruments for Change, I am committed to raising funds to expand access to music education for kids in North Carolina - ensuring teachers and students have the resources they need to spark joy, creativity, and learning through music.
