Funding the Next Fundraiser Video

Dear brothers and sisters,

Our first fundraiser video, Orthodoxy in Alabama: St. Elizabeth the New Martyr was an overwhelming success. While it may not seem like much compared to other church fundraisers, the nearly $13,000 we collected from this fundraiser went very far for our humble mission efforts. With this money we were able to move to a new location and renovate it. The money which was generously donated was spent turning a formerly drab Methodist church into a beautiful, reverent Orthodox chapel. From early March til July our men spent nearly every Tuesday and Thursday evening working in the chapel. They ripped up rugs, ground and stained concrete, sanded and painted the walls and ceiling, and drilled, hammered and hauled furniture, and even installed a beautiful copper cupola made in the traditional Russian style.

Thank God! However, the funds that you generously raised have been all but spent in order to accomplish this God-pleasing beautification. We must, unfortunately, put a stop to all church renovation and beautification projects until we can save up enough money. At the same time, we are reflecting on how successful our first fundraiser video was not just for raising money, but also for evangelization! This video put us on the map and legitimized us in the eyes of many Cullmanites, not to mention it sent a few locals our way and inspired them to become catechumens, all to the glory of God!

With that being said, instead of asking for more donations, we would like to kill two birds with one stone: we are asking if you would help us fund another fundraiser video, an update video to show our donors like you how we have diligently spent your hard earned wealth to beautify our church in the hopes of one day being able to buy land and fulfill all the other goals we have laid out in our previous posts. This update video would also serve as an evangelization tool, and God willing would bring more souls into the Body of Christ: the Orthodox Church.

We only need a meagre $2000 to hire the same team that helped us to produce our first fundraiser video.

In this time of the holy Nativity Fast, as we are all working hard to offer our Lord Jesus Christ the gifts of our renewed repentance and spiritual struggle, please consider giving Him the gift of adorning one of His holy churches: the mission of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr here in Cullman, Alabama.

May God bless your generosity and may the joy of His Nativity be with you all,

In Christ,

Fr. Theodore.
