Who is the AAWCC?

The American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) is a national organization dedicated to changing women's lives through leadership and education, thus strengthening colleges and communities.

Who are the Truman AAWCC?

The Truman Chapter of AAWCC gives an award to a woman student who has demonstrated determination and commitment to her education, career, and personal goals and who has struggled to overcome obstacles in her life to achieve these goals.

The current officers are Secretary Naeema Mahmood and Treasurer Aubrey Scheffey. We have positions open for President and President-elect. If you are interested in joining in any role, please email trc-aawcc@ccc.edu to ask about serving or becoming a member.

Why we need your help!

The Truman AAWCC is committed to awarding deserving students who have struggled to overcome great obstacles in their lives. We have open applications each Spring to select deserving students, but we are asking for donations to fund these awards. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 we have been able to make ten awards for a total of $3,750! Last year in 2021 while still fundraising 100% remotely we made six awards for a total of $2,250! We are counting on your continued support to carry on this great task of recognizing our extraordinary students, once again this year. We greatly appreciate any response and any amount.
