Story

Taiko is a full-body performance art that blends physicality and musicality, movement and rhythm. Originating in Japan but molded by a globalized world, taiko performances pay homage to ancient rhythms as well as innovate contemporary beats. Join the Pioneer Valley's own Mountain River Taiko for a brief introduction to taiko and a chance to try your hand at the big drums!

Participants will gain an introduction to taiko, basic skills regarding form and strike, and learn a brief song to be played as a group. No experience necessary!

SUNDAY, 12/5 12:30PM - 2:30PM @ the Williamsburg Grange (10 Main St, Williamsburg, MA 01096)

PRICE: $30 per participant (Ages 12+) or sliding scale; please contact Miho for details (see below)

Workshop limited to 15 participants.  All participants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Pre-registration (via this website)  is required. Please contact Miho Connolly at [email protected] with any questions.
