The OBX Room In The Inn season operates from November 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. During this time, we strive to prepare our guests for a successful transition after the shelter season ends. However, with limited incomes and resources, it is a challenging task. One major difficulty faced by our guests is the lack of access to showers, which is vital for maintaining hygiene and employment.
Providing a YMCA membership for individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly in the off-season, offers essential facilities such as showers, workout spaces, and a safe daytime haven. This effort supports personal hygiene, health, and promotes a sense of dignity and community inclusion.
