Unchained Voices: Annual Art Show

Unchained Voices is an annual art show dedicated to uplifting and honoring the creative expression of individuals currently incarcerated in Colorado’s jails and prisons. This powerful event showcases original artwork and personal narratives from artists inside, offering the public a rare and moving glimpse into lives behind the walls.

Organized by a Denver-based collective of community members, forensic social workers, attorneys, and advocates for arts and justice reform, Unchained Voices is a true collaboration with incarcerated artists themselves. The show centers their voices, their visions, and their needs.

Opening August of 2025, we’re honored to return with a new show, “What I Value,” featured at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver.

But we can’t do it without you!

We’re calling on our community to help fund the behind-the-scenes magic that makes this show possible—communication, transportation, matting, framing, gallery installation, and direct artist support.

Your Donation Will Help Us:

Mail hundreds of submission packets to incarcerated artists
Maintain messaging access through Securus to answer questions and share updates
Professionally photograph and frame every piece of artwork
Travel across the state to pick up art from correctional facilities
Create a dignified in-person and virtual gallery for artists’ voices to be seen and heard
Pay artists directly for sold work, fulfilling their self-identified needs

$25 sends art materials and submission packets into a facility
$50 covers Securus credits for direct artist communication
$100 helps frame and prepare artwork for the gallery
$250 supports a volunteer’s multi-facility art pickup trip
$500+ sponsors a section of the gallery wall (with donor recognition)
