Story

Ninety years ago, the Armenian Mirror-Spectator was founded as the first English-language Armenian weekly published in the United States. For over nine decades, it has been more than a newspaper: it is the thread that connects our diasporan communities through unbiased reporting and curated information in service to our global communities.

  • Over 1,000 households are served through the Mirror-Spectator’s weekly print format memberships and digital subscriptions.
  • News coverage is regularly enhanced, with the most recent expansion of the print edition from 16 to 20 pages for more exhaustive reporting.
  • Particularly noteworthy are the Mirror-Spectator’s in-depth analysis of hot-button issues, op-eds by political scientists, community leaders and stakeholders, and its robust arts and culture section.
  • In addition to its social media presence, the Mirror gets up to 75,000 unique online hits per month.
  • The Mirror-Spectator engages our youth through internship training opportunities: Armenian high school and college students have honed their journalistic and editorial skills at the paper’s Watertown headquarters for several decades.

We trust you are among the many who recognize the role of the Armenian Mirror-Spectator and rely on it for news coverage about Armenia and Armenians worldwide.

We hope you will join us in considering a special gift in honor of this milestone anniversary.

We need your support for initiatives ensuring the sustainability of current operations and the future growth of our newspaper in the digital age, including:

  • Enhanced staffing to include a copy editor/reporter and correspondents across the United States and overseas for broader coverage and more video reporting.
  • Digitization of past issues for archival and historical research and educational purposes.
  • Support for weekly operations to keep subscription prices affordable for all in the face of ever-rising production and publication costs.

Below you will find our sponsorship form ahead of our two-day celebration: a panel discussion on Friday, October 27, with renowned journalists including David Ignatius from the Washington Post, Ken Dilanian from NBC News, Eric Hagopian from CivilNet, and film producer and director Carla Garapedian; and a spectacular gala benefit on Saturday, October 28 with MC Sona Movsesian of the Conan O'Brien show.

We call on your generosity to help us advance our mission and continue to serve and connect future generations of informed, engaged, and inspired Armenians worldwide.

Thank you in advance for your support.
