PRIDE | Be Fabulous
After more than a decade and being known as the Harvey Milk Festival, we have been growing and working on celebrating our LGBTQ+ community. We will continue to hold our 3-Day Fest in mid May and celebrate PRIDE | asking our community to come out and Be Fabulous with us.
Story
Our Story
For 14 years, we've proudly amplified LGBTQ+ artists and served as a beacon of support for our diverse community. We embarked on this journey in the vibrant Rosemary District, and now, we're on the cusp of realizing our dream – opening an LGBTQ+ Center in the very place where it all began.
This moment marks the first phase of our grand vision, one that sees us bringing to life a Performing Arts Center that will offer artist residencies and nourish creative spirits. Though the ultimate goal lies 5-10 years ahead, our commitment remains unwavering.
The road to phase one was not without its twists and turns. Originally slated for September, unforeseen health concerns with the building prompted us to rethink our strategy. We are currently in search of a space that truly meets the needs of our community. This pursuit is rooted in our community-focused, community-driven ethos.
Our Vision
At the heart of our mission is a simple yet profound goal: to support people and hold space for them, ensuring they feel seen and heard. In response to valuable feedback from our community, we've shifted our program's focus towards hosting micro-sized events year-round. These gatherings offer an opportunity for our community to connect, heal, and grow.
We recognize the pressing need for a safe haven beyond the traditional nightlife scene, and our program "QT Hangs" is designed to fulfill just that. It's a space for authentic connection, free from judgment and full of acceptance. At FabArtsFD we envision a world where every LGBTQ+ individual is celebrated, embraced, and empowered through the transformative power of the arts. We see a future where the LGBTQ+ community finds unity, healing, and a sense of belonging outside
Community Collaboration
We understand that community strength is built on collaboration. Over the years, we've forged meaningful partnerships with other nonprofit organizations in the Rosemary District and beyond. Together, we've fortified our collective work and extended our reach. Our belief in a world without walls has driven us to not only bring the community together but to support fellow nonprofits and individuals who resonate with our mission.
As we continue our journey towards a Performing Arts Center, we remain grounded in our commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ artists and the wider community. We believe in the power of art to heal, connect, and elevate us all. Together, we'll create a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.
Join us in our ongoing mission to empower, inspire, and celebrate our diverse LGBTQ+ community through the arts.
