Our goal with sponsoring partners is to create mutually beneficial collaborations – helping your organization thrive and achieve its objectives – while together we create more capacity for nurturing underserved communities and cultivating health equity around the world. If you are interested in becoming an Inner Ocean Sponsor, please read below and select the sponsorship that most aligns with your personal or professional goals.

Sponsor a Student - $3,000

Each year we receive numerous requests from interested Nepali volunteers who are in school (or recently graduated) and working in the fields of either medicine, human rights, education, or social justice. Often they are seeking a service immersion opportunity to strengthen their English-speaking skills and to further their education but they can’t afford the time away from their regular work and/or the program fees.

As part of our desire at Inner Ocean is to participate in global leadership development, we started this Sponsor a Student program that enables local Nepali students or recent graduates to join in our programs where they can serve as translators and/or support staff to the medical teams. This sponsorship covers their transportation, food, lodging, and lost wages.

If you choose to Sponsor a Student, we will send you photos and videos of their important work in the villages each time we visit and happily give you/your business a shout out through our website, community newsletter, and social channels for engaging in this important work.

Sponsor a Mother - $5,000

Mothers in the rural Himalayas mean the world to their communities. They are the lifeblood of their families and their villages. After the devastating earthquake in 2015 when their mountainsides became mudslides and barren of food, the Mothers stayed behind to serve in their communities while the fathers left to go seek income in the cities. After many years of working alongside them through our programs at Inner Ocean, they shared with us their desire to become more self-sufficient. When asked what they mean by that, they shared that they want to know how to take care of their family and communities by learning to practice emergency medicine.

We have since certified upwards of 80 mothers as Community Health Workers and supported their training in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Each year we receive numerous requests from mothers (and others) who would like to access the same certification. Through our Sponsor a Mother program, you can do just that. If you sponsor a mother, you are committing to her certification training through the Nepal Red Cross Society (no affiliation with the American Red Cross) and her re-certification training two years after.

Sponsor a Clinic - $8,000

We currently have 8 clinics open year ‘round located in the villages of Sindhupalchok, Langtang Region, Himalayas, Nepal. These clinics are managed by the local mothers who have been trained and certified as Community Health Workers. Inner Ocean is responsible for their training which happens for new trainees every 4 years, their re-certification which happens every two years, and the restocking of clinic medical supplies twice each year.

If you would like to Sponsor a Clinic, your name (or business name and logo) will be displayed on the clinic door and when we visit the clinic we will send you photos and videos of your Himalayan clinic and all of its activity. All materials related to your clinic will include your name and/or business name and logo and we will proudly give you a shout out through our website, community newsletter, and social channels for engaging in this important work.

You are welcome to choose the clinic that you would like to sponsor (as long as it is not already sponsored) as well as work with a Nepali artist to design your own sign.
