Topics: Policy & Priorities: How Government Shapes Affordable and Fair Housing

On Monday, April 28th at 11:30 am SEND will be organizing a presentation and discussion to highlight the impact of policy decisions and the changing priorities of government at the local, state, and federal level. Specifically, discussing how these changes affect the affordable and fair housing landscapes nationally and locally. This is an especially poignant conversation at a time when federal agencies like the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are pulling back grant funds and facing the threat of significant staff reduction, office closures, and reduced budgetary funding.

Lunch will be provided to those registered in person. Vegetarian options will be available.

If you are attending in person, please arrive in time to be seated with lunch by 11:00 AM. This panel will take place at Southeast Community Services (901 Shelby) in their second floor conference room.

El lunes 28 de abril, a las 11:30 am, SEND organizará una presentación y debate para destacar el impacto de las decisiones políticas y las prioridades cambiantes del gobierno a nivel local, estatal y federal. En concreto, se analizará cómo estos cambios afectan el panorama de la vivienda accesible y justa a nivel nacional y local. Esta conversación es especialmente relevante en un momento en que agencias federales como el Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos (HUD) están recortando los fondos de subvenciones y se enfrentan a la amenaza de una reducción significativa de personal, el cierre de oficinas y la reducción de la financiación presupuestaria.

Se proporcionará almuerzo a quienes se registren presencialmente. Habrá opciones vegetarianas disponibles.
