Creative Crafting at Chama Valley Arts,

First Wednesday of the month, Chama Valley Arts is opening a space for all ages to create, connect, and learn.  Bring your projects, questions, and creativity to the first Wednesday of every month.

March Class: Candle Making by Trish Sanchez

Level: Beginner and up / Ages: 10+ recommended

Class Details

Date March 4th, 2026

Time: 3 pm -6 pm (Note: This is a drop-in style class. Please allow 30 -45 minutes to complete your project)

Cost: $15.00 (includes your first candle)

Add-ons:  Each additional candle is $5.00

What's Provided

Waxes: Paraffin (for molded candles and Soy wax (for container candles)

Scents:  A variety of Fragrances and essential oils

Colors: a curated selection of dyes.

Teaching / Skills to learn

Whether you want to keep it simple or get artistic, we will guide you through the process.

Color layering

Swirl and Marble techniques

Botanical Accents: Add dried flowers inside glass jars, or on top of tin containers, and outside molded candles.

Custom Shapes: using silicone molds for unique designs

Items you are welcome and encouraged to bring:

A container of your choice to use for your candle (must be heat-resistant: glass, ceramic or tin)
