Update from BeeBee!

Hi again everyone, Beebee here checking in to let you know how I'm doing,

I saw that nice lady vet again today. She said my lungs still sound yucky-no surprise since I am still coughing up yucky stuff! Nobody seems to know a lot about this new disease that I have, ( you know- the one that's been on the news)They said that it's going to take me a long time to get better since I was so skinny, recently had puppies, and just got spayed. The good news is- no more medicine, and I get to keep sleeping a lot in my safe foster home- I like this place because they keep feeding me and everyone says I am gaining weight. Between naps I am getting strong enough to run for a minute in the yard, and if no one is looking I jump up to check out what's on the counter and knock it down to see if there is anything to eat! In other news, I have some little bumps on my chest-the vet says just to keep an eye on them for now- it might be from the hormones while I was pregnant with my puppies. I'm going to see the vet again in a month to check on everything-paws crossed that all of this stuff is better by then!

Thanks for all your support!

Love, Beebee

Update from BeeBee!

Hi Everyone! My name is BeeBee and I am getting well enough to let you all know how I am doing. I saw the vet today-she is a nice lady, but I don't like her place very much. They took pictures and said my lungs still look pretty bad. (I think I'm cute, so don't listen to them-haha) I have to keep taking lots of pills for another 2 weeks-could someone please tell foster Mom that I don't like pills!
The good news is that I like drinking water again and yesterday my foster mom did not have to put that needle under my skin and give me water that way. I don't know who is happier, me, or foster mom!

Overall, I'm starting to feel better, but not every day is good- I hear that is called 2 steps forward and one step back. I'm going to keep having steam showers to get this gunk out of my lungs, but I'm walking around everywhere on my own and I even got strong enough to get up on the couch!

I will see the vet again in a few weeks and let you know how I am doing-Thanks to all of you for helping me and other labs with your donations and well wishes.

Update from BeeBee's Foster Mom

Beebee has been up and down with lethargy, fever and poor appetite. She needed to see the vet again a few days ago. Her blood work was good except mild anemia. She had a lot of tests done, we got good news today that she does not have distemper or canine influenza. She does have mycoplasma, so we will need to continue her antibiotics and supportive care. She will see the vet again in a week. She is starting to eat again, and is getting up on her own without assistance. She has a long road ahead of her, but it looks like she is gonna make it!

Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes for this very sweet little girl!

Update from BeeBee's Foster Mom

Beebee has started to turn the corner. She has regained her appetite, but still will not drink any water. She is taking 2 antibiotics , an appetite stimulant, getting steam showers and sub-cutaneous fluids.She is super sweet and giving some kisses, she is more willing to walk around for a few minutes-especially for a treat!
Beebee's foster Mom says thank you for all the donations to help Beebee and other dogs like her. This could not happen with the support of all the caring labby lovers!
