Several nonprofits and community organizations have come together to create a temporary shelter for mothers and children in response to the overwhelming need in our community. New Birth International Church graciously agreed to host the shelter. Currently, more than 50 mothers and children are being provided with safe shelter and daily meals, and the shelter is preparing to take in additional families due to the dangerously freezing temperatures.

Unfortunately, the furnaces at New Birth International Church continue to fail. The furnace company has determined that the system can no longer be repaired and that two new furnaces are urgently needed.

The shelter is in immediate need of funds to purchase and install these furnaces, extend staff hours to meet the growing demand, and eventually repair the roof to ensure long-term safety.

Kids Empowered On The Move, a nonprofit dedicated to serving homeless families, is one of the organizations supporting this collaboration. We are urgently asking the public to help provide the funds needed to keep this shelter open and warm—so that no child or family is left in danger of freezing during this critical time.
