I am happy to share that Conch Shell Productions Inc is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. I have had the pleasure of founding and leading this arts organization for the past five years, and the decision to transition into a nonprofit organization was fueled by my growing awareness that our work to creative a space of Caribbean Diaspora and Caribbean theatre and film artists is having a powerful impact on artists and audiences. Our community needs Conch Shell Productions Inc to be committed to developing and celebrating new plays and films by Caribbean heritage writers is for years to come. And we need your support to continue our work.

MISSION STATEMENT:

At Conch Shell Productions (CSP), our mission is to infuse new Caribbean Diaspora and Caribbean voices into the American theater and film industry. We create a space to produce, present, and develop new plays and screenplays written by a community of artists who have an expanded view of reality. We believe that theatre and film can and should have a lasting impact and provoke social change. CSP is a writer focused company that encourages collaborative process among creatives, and recognizes that we are creating art that speaks to our audiences rather than down to them. We support and collaborate with Caribbean Diaspora and Caribbean writers who share our vision and our passion for innovative storytelling that questions and deconstructs existing conceptions of their culture and the art form by owning and sharing their narrative. We also create an accessible platform for dialogue between diverse audiences and artistic communities.

Conch Shell Productions achieves its mission of infusing Caribbean Diaspora and Caribbean voices into American film and theatre by producing an online film festivals, online short play series, and hosted readings of full-length plays, and by exploring innovative theatre and filmmaking techniques and providing writers with the support they need to bring their writing to life . They provide the services of skilled dramaturg to assist our selected playwrights with the development of their work, and Conch Shell International Film Fest celebrates, elevates, and unites a diverse community of Caribbean Diaspora and Caribbean filmmakers.

Your financial contributions will provide Conch Shell Productions, Inc with the support needed to realize our 2024 goals: Programming goals: Artist salaries & fees. (CSP ARTIST CHAT, CONCH SHELL INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST , BLUELIGHT SERIES , CSP ARTIST COLLECTIVE,Conch Shell Press) Estimated 2024 budget: $50,000

Outreach goals: As a newly formed 501(c)(3) arts organization, in addition to our general marketing campaign (social media, etc) is it imperative that our team attend theater and film conferences to develop relationships with foundation decision makers, as well as potential partners & corporate sponsors. (ex. Theatre Communications Group Conference: Black Theatre Network Conference; International Black Theatre Festival, and more). Your donations will allow us to cover these costs. Estimated 2024 budget: $10,000

Capacity Building Goals: We currently have no regular paid staff members. In order to become a sustainable nonprofit within the next five years, we plan to hire a general manager, development officer, dramaturg, administrative staff, and we intend to pay our artistic director. To achieve this goal, we need your support. Estimated 2024 budget: $40,000
