Please Help Sweet Angel With Massive Bladder Stone
Sometimes in rescue a very special dog comes into our care through sheer serendipity. Angel ended up with Hearts 'n Homes during the last euthanasia list; she was not on the list, but we had a willing foster, getting total numbers down would save the at-risk dogs, and Angel was a great fit for our foster! Angel's name fits her perfectly, and we brought her into foster. We did not realize the medical costs we would be taking in, at a time when we had already taken in several other dogs needing surgery. Our foster suspected a urinary infection and off to the vet we went with Angel. What was found was the largest bladder stone we had ever seen! We were offered the option of waiting to see if it would dissolve or to go into surgery to remove it. Easy decision for us even though we knew our treasury was at a very low point; we could not allow our sweet Angel to suffer. Since Angel is a senior, we needed to do a lot of pre-op testing to make sure surgery was safe, and just a few days ago, Angel had successful surgery and is recovering well with her foster. We took a bit of a leap of faith, hoping we could count on our supporters to help us with this unplanned for cost of about $2,000. Will you help us continue our life saving work and donate to Angel's Fund? In addition to the medical bills, Angel will need to be on an expensive special food the rest of her life to prevent a reoccurrence of the stone. No amount is too small, and all donations are tax deductible. Thank you to all of you, who believe as we do, that these dogs are worth saving!![]()
