Electric Potential, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit making socially impactful careers more accessible to Gen Z youths from historically marginalized communities, is launching our inaugural Future Changemakers Lab in Boston, MA on September 9th, 2023.

This in-person, full-day event will bring together 100 Gen Z high school & college students in the Boston area, and will include:

Keynote speakers introducing students to socially impactful careers in policymaking, policy funding, and advocacy leading;
3 workshops on diving into civics and policy, taking informed actions on pressing social issues, and designing impact-driven career paths;
Social Innovation Idea Competition to choose an issue area to tackle and present a mock policy proposal, advocacy idea, and funding campaign strategy, judged by industry leaders in the social impact space;
Fireside Chat with current changemakers sharing their journeys; and
an introduction and invitation to Catalyst Academy, an upcoming 1-month program that will delve deep into civics & policy education and career exploration for marginalized students to launch their social change journeys.

Today, Electric Potential is a fully remote team of 33 volunteer members who are marginalized Gen Z students and recent grads ourselves (82% BIPOC, 86% Women or Non-Binary, 32% LGBTQIA+, 27% disabled), working on a shared mission of creating a ripple effect of social impact by supporting the future changemakers of our generation.

Your donation will help 5 of our volunteer members who played a key part in making this event happen to each travel to Boston and lead the event themselves, gaining valuable professional experience and a larger exposure to a network of future changemakers.
