For over 25 years, Valley Achievement Center (VAC) has been a cornerstone of support for children and adults with developmental disabilities in our community. We offer life-changing programs that empower individuals to reach their fullest potential—whether it’s a child beginning their educational journey or an adult gaining the skills to live independently. But now, we need your help more than ever.

As we close out 2024, we’re facing a critical moment. The need for our services is greater than ever, but the resources to sustain them have become limited. That’s why we’re launching this end-of-year fundraiser: to ensure that VAC can continue providing essential services that make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

Basic Education Program: Our Basic Education department is one of the only programs of its kind in Bakersfield, serving children with some of the most challenging behaviors. Without the support of VAC, these children would have to seek educational services outside of Bakersfield. We provide specialized instruction and behavioral support that allows students to thrive where other systems may not meet their needs. Your donation helps keep these critical services accessible, ensuring that these children can continue their education close to home.
Preschool Program: Early intervention is crucial for children with developmental disabilities. Our preschool program provides the foundational education that prepares young children for future academic success. Your support helps ensure that these children have the tools they need during a critical time in their development.
Social Skills Programs: Social skills are essential for children with developmental disabilities to succeed in school and life. Our social skills programs teach children how to communicate, interact, and build relationships with others, providing a foundation for personal and academic success. Your donation allows us to continue offering these important programs.
Adult Services: VAC’s Adult Services meet individuals where they are in life, providing support through a range of programs. From our day program to our tailored day program, Independent Living Services (ILS), and supported employment, we help adults build the skills they need for greater independence and community involvement. Your contribution helps ensure these individuals continue receiving the life skills training, job support, and community integration opportunities they need to thrive.
