Since its founding in 1909, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has stood as the nation’s largest and most influential civil rights organization. Our mission is clear: to secure equity, political rights, and social inclusion by eliminating discrimination and advancing policies that uplift Black communities and all people of color. We envision a society rooted in liberation, where every individual can fully exercise their civil and human rights.

On October 24, 2025, the Auburn Cayuga County NAACP will host its 58th Annual Freedom Fund Gala at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, NY. This powerful evening will feature a keynote address, community awards, and the prestigious Harriet Tubman Freedom Fighter Award, honoring individuals whose work exemplifies our shared commitment to justice and equity.

This year’s theme, “The Fierce Urgency of Now!”, echoes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s timeless warning: “Justice too long delayed is justice denied.” In today’s climate, his words ring louder than ever. From voting rights and education to health equity and economic justice, the challenges we face demand immediate and bold action.

Together, we can ensure that the call for justice is not only heard — but answered.
