Support GWMR November Giving Campaign via the Barnett Family Match!

Dear Alumni, Team, Parents & Friends,

FOGWMR have asked me to reengage in the fund raising effort for Men's Rowing. Please bear with me as I get back up to speed.

Raising money for our program is tricky. Ideally we would like all money raised to come in through the FOGWMR because it gives the Club greater flexibility in using the money. An example being the University will pay for a Coaches salary (assuming we raised the funds) but they won't reimburse for expenses.   Therefore we need to drive in as much of the support as possible through FOGWMR.

However, as you may have heard, GW is doing another matching campaign this November. The basic rule was GW had $25,000 to offer the school clubs and first come, first matched. They repeated the match a few times and Men's Rowing crushed it. This year the University has changed the rules to drive up participation and make sure one club doesn't dominate the funds.  So the money comes in much smaller doses (micro-doses)  called "Boosts."  For each gift, at the moment, we get a $20 boost. While not as impactful as last year it is still funds to be had for the program.

Please consider making a small gift for each of the challenges we will roll out to get the Boosts through November.  We hope you participate in the process through November but reserve the lion's share of your support through FOGWMR.

We will be doing more of these so it will require repeating this process in small gifts. At $20 a gift we need 100 donors. At $50, we need 40 (39 as I just donated :).

Please give if you can!  Again, we are walking a tight rope of giving to get match but wanting majority of funds to come through FOGWMR.
