Our goal with this Voters’ Forum is to get voters talking and expressing what they want from this election, and what they’re worried about. We won’t be talking about parties, but we will be talking about issues and policies. We won’t be talking about national politics, we’ll be talking about local needs and opportunities.
What we plan on producing from this event is a “citizens’ agenda” — a summary of all the things you think the candidates should be talking about in order to decide which one to vote for on Nov. 5. We’re going to synthesize everything we hear from forum attendees, and we’ll publish it, as well as send it directly to candidates and ask them for their reactions and statements.
Simply put, your voice as a voter deserves to be heard, and NowKalamazoo wants to be the loudspeaker.
And our hope is that this event might even be fun, in contrast to the typically somber or stressful election event. There will be food. We’re bringing in a DJ. There will be a bar serving drinks. And you’ll have a chance to meet and interact with the NowKalamazoo team.
So start thinking about it right now:
+ What do you want to see happen in Kalamazoo County as a result of this year’s election?
+ What do you worry about for Kalamazoo County with this election?
And if you’re interested in joining us, RSVP right here. Space is limited, so don’t wait!
