Since 2019, rootid has been co-hosting brand & communications workshops as well as a variety of other convenings with nonprofit professionals, funders and service providers such as Full Circle Fund, TechSoup, Data for Good Fund, Giant Rabbit, GRID Alternatives, Kalamuna and Bay Area Drupal Camp.

These active sessions engage participants through hands-on activities and small group discussions with other nonprofit professionals, service providers and funders; these are not webinars.

We strive to co-create spaces of meaningful connection and belonging. We encourage and model frequent screen and body breaks. We believe collective learning leads to the most innovative and effective outcomes.

Participants can expect to...

learn about tools, practices, and policies that have helped others succeed already in the face of similar challenges.
discuss challenges they are currently facing across thematic topic areas that have been pre-selected by the community through surveys and stakeholder interviews.
ideate with peers, consultants and funders from the nonprofit sector about potential solutions.
grow your network of nonprofit industry leaders to continue the conversation.

All sessions are virtual and take place over Zoom.

Our Format

2 hours in length
combination of a short 30 minute intro, community agreements and webinar about the chosen topic
15 minute bursts of independent writing time to reflect and work through the topic at hand
multiple self-facilitated breakout sessions where people are in small groups (5-6 people usually) helping one another through a 'solutions room' type format.
artifacts recorded via google docs and jamboard where favorite takeaways are elevated and shared back with the full community

Note: during the breakouts, the co-facilitators take turns waiting in the larger room and hopping into each room briefly to listen, take anonymous notes and navigate any issues that arise.

Virtual 'seats' are limited in order to make space for more authentic connections to form. Reservations are on a first-come first-served basis.

Accessibility

We provide a link to our resource folder and slide deck draft 24 hours before the session as well as enable live transcription and closed caption during the live Zoom session. Our sessions are recorded (absent any technical difficulties) and can be accessed on our website a few days after the event.

Office hours will be held monthly so that participants can get help through virtual group coaching sessions. For those who would like more personalized attention, 1-1 coaching is also available (see below for pricing).

Participants have the option of exploring the workshops that are of most interest to them, or are welcome to take all 5 workshops for a reduced rate. 2022 Membership: $1000/organization (up to 4 team members), project/ partnership roadmap, three (3) 1:1 coaching sessions, dedicated slack channel & monthly office hours (group coaching).
