Lighting the Way to Hope and Healing
Cancer has touched nearly every family in our community. Too often, our neighbors have had to travel far from home for care, adding stress, expense, and time away from loved ones during one of life’s hardest moments.
At Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC), we believe that care and compassion should never be out of reach. That’s why we are establishing The Havel Family Cancer Center — a place of dignity, comfort, and hope where families can receive exceptional treatment close to home.
This vision is made possible through the leadership and generosity of Mr. LeRoy Havel, the founding benefactor whose gift lights the way for all who will follow. His commitment ensures our community will have access to advanced cancer care right here in Washington County.
Alongside this project, the Light the Way Fund will provide lasting support for patients and caregivers, sustaining equipment, education, and compassionate services for generations to come.
Together, these two pathways offer meaningful ways for you to make a difference:
1. The Havel Family Cancer Center
Support the establishment of this new, state-of-the-art facility.
Giving levels:
• Lead Partner ($200,000–$499,999)
• Major Contributor ($50,000–$199,999)
• Supporting Partner ($5,000–$49,999)
• Community Champion (<$5,000)
2. The Light the Way Fund
Sustain ongoing care by helping:
• Maintain and enhance our oncology space
• Fund medical equipment and staff training
• Provide assistance with medication and emergency needs
Every gift helps keep care close to home and close to the heart, reducing burdens, expanding access, and lighting the way toward healing and hope for Washington County families.
Thank you for helping us light the way! Not only for today, but for generations to come.
