Support Arvilla E. Diver Memorial Library
Please help save one of our community's most valuable & vibrant resources.
The present and future of Diver Library are in danger.
We're caught between a rock & a hard place! (Actually, a road & a high crumbling place.)
Road work on Rt. 40 has shifted Main Street even closer to our front door, eliminating any semblance of legal street-side parking. Erosion behind the library building has now reached a critical point, touching our foundation, promising that one day the library will tumble into Electric Lake.
Unless we act. NOW!
The library and its trustees have a plan to resolve both issues . But we need your help!
- On August 22nd, the vacant property at 138 Main Street, which borders the library, goes up for auction. It would offer the library immediate, safe, off-street parking and a path to a long term solution to our erosion problem.
- Through public and private grants we've raised a significant amount of money, but it may not be enough. Anything can happen at auction. And there are closing cost, legal fees, and potential unpaid dues on the property to consider.
- That's why we really need YOU, our friends and neighbors, more than ever. We need you to help ensure a safe present and a long, bright future for the library. Please spread the word and consider making a donation. Every little bit helps.
