Support Working Dogs for Vets This Giving Tuesday

Working Dogs for Vets' mission is to provide service dogs and training to our disabled heroes, empowering them as they return to civilian life with newfound independence. We aim to reduce veteran suicide rates and overcrowding in animal shelters.

Did you know 22 veterans commit suicide daily? One a day is a tragedy, 22 a day is UNACCEPTABLE! At Working Dogs for Vets, 98% of the dogs in our programs are rescues. Supporting us means saving lives at both ends of the leash!

Great News! Givebutter Gives Back is back! To celebrate the changemakers using their platform to make the world a better place, Givebutter will donate $25K to nonprofits for Giving Tuesday. If Working Dogs for Vets raises at least $500 by the end of Giving Tuesday (December 3, 2024), we are eligible! Please pitch in if you can! Shares are also greatly appreciated!

How does it work? To meet the dire needs of veterans and shelter dogs, WDFV has designed an innovative training model that trains both people and dogs alike. Our programs include:

In-House Program: Certified volunteer trainers train service dogs in their homes.
Prison Program: Inmates train service dogs.
No Veteran Left Behind Program: Veterans train their service dogs with guidance from certified trainers.
Ambassador Program: Non-veterans, who may be related to a veteran or spouse, represent us and help with training, in-home visits, and reporting back to WDFV.
Supportive Services: Provided on a case-by-case basis, including agility training, lodging, meals, supplies, travel assistance, water therapy, volunteer opportunities, and more.
Service Dog Trainer Course: Training for volunteer service dog trainers.
Employment Opportunities and Pet Adoption Program: Some dogs might not make it as service dogs but can be great pets or emotional support animals.
