NAEF envisions a world in which every individual has equitable access to quality education, unlocking their full potential and contributing to a thriving global society. Our foundation is committed to catalyzing positive change by fostering a dynamic learning environment that transcends barriers and empowers learners of all ages and backgrounds. NAEF is dedicated to fostering a transformative and equitable future through education. Our mission is to empower individuals, regardless of background or circumstance, with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

NAEF Gets It Done: Funding Priorities, Services, and Programs

Literacy

Distributed over 3,000+ books to Norristown children and families
Funded two bilingual libraries
Developed annual Read Across America author events

College and Career Exploration

Funded college visits for students who may otherwise never see a campus
Developed the NAEF LEAD (Learn, Empower, Advocate, Deliver) Program, a teen leadership program that introduces students to nonprofit careers
Developed the NAEF HEAT Program (Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism) Program, a career exploration program focused on introducing students to careers in the region’s hospitality industry

Arts and Sciences

Developed the annual One Book One Norristown Arts & Literacy Festival, bringing world renowned authors to Norristown to engage with the community together around a shared reading experience
Funded STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programs, including classroom projects, field trips, and summer enrichment
Launched the Norristown Data Science and Analytics Summer Institute, introducing students to data analytics software, storytelling, and careers in data science

Extracurricular Experiences

Offered high-quality, enriching after school and summer programs, such as Crochet Club, Girls Flag Football, HEAT (hospitality, entrepreneurship, and tourism) Career Exploration Program, NAEFitness Camp, Summer Strings orchestra camp, S Cubed Club for our special education population, and more!
Supported district field trips, family engagement events, and international travel, impacting over 1,000 Norristown area students

Health and Wellness

Developed a two-week summer fitness camp for Norristown area students, focused on nutrition, sleep hygiene, mindfulness, and physical activity (cardio and strength training)
Funded Norristown Lifesavers program for 8th graders at East Norriton Middle School, certifying over 20 students in CPR, AED, and first aid skills
Funded mental health services and resources for Norristown area children and families

Teacher Resources & Support

Provided $250 mini-grants to each of the 12 annual Norristown Area School District Teacher of the Year winners
Funded classroom parties, parent engagement events, and field trips through discretionary grants
Purchased supplies for classrooms, including books, sanitizer, writing utensils, stationary, and giveaways for students

How You Can Help

Every donation helps NAEF provide opportunities, experiences, and resources that empower Norristown Area School District students to learn, grow, and succeed.

$1,000 – funds a college tour for 30 students
$2,500 – funds a one-week summer camp for 15-20 students
$5,000 – funds a year-long after school program for 50 students
$10,000 – funds a large-scale initiative like Norristown Lifesavers
